Reviews Index

I see you've found yourself at what I like to call the Reviews Index, a glossary of sorts for all of the games I've reviewed, along with short comments on each. I constructed this page for one purpose; to make it easier for my beloved readers to navigate the blog. Without further delay, here's the comprehensive guide on everything I've expressed my opinions on in the form of video game reviews. Please check out, comment on and share reviews that you're interested in.

Key
Typically, each review will be listed as follows - 'Game Name - System - Date Published - Comments'
However, if I have any extra things to note about a review, detailed in this nifty key, you'll see them in the form of the following symbols, bracketed next to my brief comments.

^ - Review is mainly positive
v - Review is mainly negative
~ - Review is mixed

^ - My opinion on the game has changed, and I now feel more positive towards it
= - Review is reflecting of my current opinion on the game (Basically, I stand by my points)
v - My opinion on the game is outdated, and I now feel it is of a lesser quality than I stated in this review

* - Game has been awarded 90% or more. Displayed next to the title of the game. Keep in mind that, if I've changed my mind for the worse about a game with this score, this symbol will not be displayed.

v - In retrospect, this review is of a particularly poor quality, at least in comparison to my newer stuff (if you don't see this symbol next to the listing, it will typically mean I'm happy with how it turned out)

Reviews Index
A
Army Defender - DSiWare - 23/03/2010 The best 200 Point App on DSiWare, as expressed in a quick review. (^=v)

C
Colours! 3D* - 3DS DL - 21/04/2012 Simply put, this is the best handheld drawing tool I've ever used. With ultra-user-friendly functionality and a full online gallery, this is a bargain at £5.40. (^=)

D
Disgaea DS - DS - 31/01/2010 - A solid DS port of the PS2 classic. The second game review I ever wrote, and the first I published on here. (^vv)

Donkey Kong Country Returns* - Wii - 13/08/2011 - A superb 2D platformer, quite possibly the best on Wii, unexpectedly to have come out of Metroid Prime developers Retro Studios. They did the DKC series justice just like their previous project, and the end result is ace. (^=)

F
Final Fantasy IV DS - DS - 25/05/2010 - The first Review I ever wrote. Admittedly of a very poor quality, but I posted it for insight (and possibly cheap filler). (^vv)

F-Zero GX* - GC - 30/04/2011 - An phenomenal, albeit fiendishly difficult arcade racer. This game alone is evidence that Nintendo simply need to bring back F-Zero. (^=)

G
GoldenEye 007* - Wii - 05/02/2011 - The Wii reboot of the Nintendo 64 classic. Packing some incredible productions values, this is the best FPS on the system, and it doesn't look like that's going to change anytime soon. (^=)

M
Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga* - GBA - 22/03/2011 - One of the best GBA games around. It's hilarious, it's addictive and it's a lot of fun, giving the RPG genre yet another Mario mix-up. (^=v)

Mario Kart 7 - 3DS - 31/07/2012 - While lacking in content, this release packs the best karting experience to date with near-perfectly balanced gameplay. Even if Funky Kong isn't in it, this release is definitely worth picking up if you have a 3DS and haven't already. (^=)

Metroid: Other M - Wii - 15/10/2010 - Underrated collaboration between Team Ninja and Nintendo, albeit a very flawed one. Scored this a bit too high, to be honest. (^vv)

N
No More Heroes* - Wii - 04/08/2010 - A cult classic, and the first in one of my favourite video game series ever. Sadly though, this review suffers of another case of poor quality writing. (^=v)

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle* - Wii - 28/02/2011 - Naturally, this is the sequel to No More Heroes. It fixes all of the flaws of its predecessor in the same culty shell of the original. Like the first, this is easily one of my favourite games despite its issues. (^=v)

P
Professor Layton and the Lost Future* - DS - 30/11/2011 - The best Layton game on the DS by far, and a beautiful experience in its own right. The only real issue with this title is the fact you'll need to invest in something to wipe the tears from eyes when you reach the saddening ending. (^=)

R
Red Steel 2 - Wii - 15/09/2010 - A fantastic, overlooked gem of a game, let down slightly by one major flaw. Regardless, this was the best form of 1:1 swordplay on the platform until Skyward Sword came along. (^=)

Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition* - Wii - 07/07/2011 - Quite possibly the best thing to come out of Capcom... ever. The definitive version of an instant classic. Unforgettably good. (^=)

Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D - 3DS - 18/12/2011 - A poorly developed, flawed game. Despite this, I found it highly addictive and very fun to play, making it an absurdly genuine recommendation. (~=)

S
SSX: On Tour - GC - 18/11/2010 - An extreme sports title that got it right. It may not have topped SSX 3, but it's still a great game in its own right. (^=v)

Solatorobo: Red the Hunter - DS - 24/10/2011 - A criminally overlooked gem of a DS RPG. Despite being ridiculously easy, this was one of the best games I experienced in 2011. Highly recommended. (^=)

Super Mario 3D Land - 3DS - 13/05/2012 - A superb showcase of the eye-popping visual capabilities of the 3DS, but one that falls a bit flat lacking in new ideas and longevity. (~=)

Super Smash Bros. Brawl* - Wii - 07/04/2012 - The 23rd game review published on the blog (my lucky number) and the 100th published piece altogether. And what a way to celebrate those occasions. Brawl is an absolutely brilliant arcade fighter that every Wii gamer should own. (^=)

Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition - 3DS - 27/05/2011 - My selected 3DS launch title. I poured over 120 hours into this near-flawless port of Capcoms big name game, and for good reason: It's an absurdly addictive, albeit flawed fighter. (^=)

T
Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars* - Wii - 17/08/2010 - If Smash Bros. Brawl doesn't count, this is easily the best fighting game on its platform. A word of warning: This review got messed up in the process of publishing. (^=v)

V
Viewtiful Joe* - GC - 12/02/2010 - One of my all-time favourite GameCube games. The review reflects this, although the quality of my writing at this point doesn't. (^=v)

W
Warioware Inc. - GBA - 07/11/2010 - The title that started Wario's Microgame craze, and one of the best in the series. Now available to 3DS Ambassadors for free! (^=)

The World Ends with You* - DS - 17/12/2010 - My favourite RPG of all time, my favourite handheld game of all time... The World Ends with You is unbelievably good. My writing didn't at all do this game justice, so I'll be reviewing it once more soon enough... (^=v)
